Google Earth Virtual Field Trip to Washington DCHere's the KMZ file to a Virtual Field Trip from Grymes Memorial School to Washington DC. It starts at the school, shows the bus route, gives birds eye view of view of Washington DC, then zooms into the mall and the following monuments: Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, United States Capitol and Jefferson Memorial. For each landmark we have tried to include videos and links on the history of the person the building is dedicated to, the history of the building, a tour of the building, and panoramic photos. Since the Capitol wasn't built to commemorate a person, it has a video on how a Bill is passed in congress instead.
Videos & LinksIf you don't want to use Google Earth, you can still show the videos and links by clicking below. The Google Earth version gives students a fuller experience, showing them the route and distance and 3D building. Please note that the links below contain more information than the Google Earth tour.
